LARGE CROWD GATHERS
OPENING OF PARLIAMENT USUAL CEREMONIAL (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Speaker having been elected and members sworn in, the usual ceremonial associated with the opening of Parliament were observed to-day. A large crowd had gathered in front of the building, where a guard of honour was drawn up, and in the Legislative Council the galleries were crowded, Following tradition, the GoveriiorGeneral proceeded to the Legislative Council, to which members of the House of Representatives were summoned. The Speech from the Throne was of usual length, and after its delivery Lord Galway left the Chamber and members jf the House of Representatives returned to their own Chamber, where tributes were paid to the late King George V.
