DOMINION TOUR LIKELY N.S.W. MUSICIANS There seems every possibility of New Zealand being visited by the .New .South Wmlcs State Orchestra, according to n statement made in Christchurcli this week by Mr. H, Gladstone Hill. Mr. Hill was the organiser and manager for (ho tour of the New South Wales State Orchestra in 1920, under (lie direction of M. Henri Verbrugghen. bast week three representatives of the Sydney Conservatorium were in Christ - church, and Professor Frank Hutehens and Mr. Roland Foster discussed the prospect of another tour with -Mr. Hill, who then spent Saturday morning with the director of the conservatorium, Dr. Hi. liainton. Dr. Bainton will conduct the summer school for music- teachers at Wellington. Commenting on his conversation with Dr. Bainton, Mr. Hill said (he director considered the time opportune for another visit, and as the orchestra was playing very well and had reestablished itself in the public interest, there should be no reason why another tour should not he arranged.' The tour was likely to take place in the September vacation of this year, and not during the midsummer, as on the previous occasion. Mr. Hill said that as time would be limited, if was not proposed'to make the tour as comprehensive as the last one. In May of this year the conservatorium would celebrate its twenty-first birth day, and preparations were being made for this event, added Mr. Hill. Dr. Bainton, as principal of the institution, bad extended an invitation to him'to be present. It was hoped, by that time, to complete arrangements which would ha.e |o be made for the- proposed tour. In the meantime he was going-into details with Mr, Roland Foster, who would report In tin- director on his return to Sydney. Dr. Bainton would consult/the New South Wales Minister, of Education on his return about the first week in February,
