RELIEF PROVIDED
STRANDED N.Z. YOUTHS BYRD EXPEDITION ECHO NEW YORK. July 13. The spokesman of the Byrd experition announced that arrangements had been made to transport home Cecil Melroce and Francis Smoothy, the stranded New Zealand members of the expedition. They will leave on the AngloCanadian, sailing for Dunedin on July 30. Meanwhile those in charge of the expedition would provide them with quarters at the Y.M.C.A. He said they' had no intention of leaving them stranded. Their difficulties were not known until they were read in the press.
