Preaching to a congregation that • included tho Governor, Lord Huntingfield, at St. Paul's Cathedral, Canon Grotty declared that women wore becoming increasingly reluctant to bear sons to be slaughtered in wars fomented to increase tho profits of armament manufacturers. “Vested interests are concerned in the perpetuation of war, whereby vast fortunes are tnado out of the slaughter of innocent people," ho said.
