ORDERS FOR COAL
NEW MINE AT KAMO
» Advice that arrangements are being made by Ihe Railway Department to place a regular order for 50 tons of •oal a week from the now mine at Kamo, near Whangarei, has been rewived by Mr W. M. Fraser, one of the proprietors of the mine. The advice bales that trials of the coal have ndieated its suitability for use in ooomotives.
This action is a sequel to representaions made by the Whangarei Cham ior of Commerce, which asked the dcinrtmcnt to investigate the quality of lie coal, with a view to restoring to he district orders which were lost, chon the llikurangi mine closed.
