ORMOND SPORTS POSTPONED
WEATHER UNFAVORABLE
CLUB’S MISFORTUNE
On account of the wet weather to-day, the Ormond Sports Club decided to postpone its meeting at Ormond until Saturday. A dance will be held .in the Ormond Hall to-night, as previously announced. while a further dance will he held as a wind-up to Saturday's snorts. Tho dub has met with considerable misfortune in past years as the result of wot weather. In 1933, the club announced a meeting for January 2, but rain prevented this being held, and it was postponed until the Saturday. However, ram again came on, and the fixture was cancelled. The club abandoned the annual meeting for 1924. Towards the end of last year a strong committee was formed, and preparations commenced immediately for to-day’s meeting. Much work was done improving the ground, and everything showed promise for a most successful meeting. When it was found that a good number of people had turned out this'morning, the committee thought it would ho wise to proceed with the - sports, but another downpour reluctantly lorced them to postpone the sports -until Saturday. The committee members tendered their thunks to patrons who went to Ormond and to all who had assisted in preparing for the meeting, and apologised for having to postpone the fixture.
