The committee of the Motu Tennis Citib met recently in the pavilion, when several important matters were discussed. Final arrangements were made tor Tie open tennis tournament to be held on Saturday, December 29, to be tollowed by a dance in the evening. The weather has been very unsettled for the holidays and the usual picnic parties liavo had to be abandoned. Mrs. W. Fisher is making a long stay in Motu, and is at present with he/ daughter, Mrs. T. R, Tycrman. Miss L. Shanks, Gisborne, is also spending a few days with Mrs. Tyerman. Mr. and Mrs. J. Kane. Makauri, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. Kend. Mr. D. Dunn, spent Christmas Day. in Motu.—Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Bull, Gisborne, are at “Kaipono” for the holidays.—Mi’s. V. E. East and Master Ron Williams, Wellington, are guests of Mrs. W. A. Wright.—Mr. and Mrs. A. Neilson, Gisbdrne, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W- J. Reed.—Miss Diana'and Master William Boys are spending part of their vacation at “Anaura,” as tbo guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Bridge.—Miss Lorna lait, Te Karaka, is visiting her brother, Mr Cyril Tait, Whakarau road.—Mr. Ik Wintel paid a brief visit to lauranga for the annual regatta. The Rev. A. jH. R. Monas -conducted his farewell service in St, Paul s Church on. Christinas morning.
