TRANSPORT WRIT
CITY LICENSE CHALLENGED
A case of interest to local bodies will come before the Supreme Court at Dunedin this week. Documents have been filed asking that a writ of certiorari ho issued against the chairman and members of the No. 9 Transport Licensing Authority, concerning their recent decision granting the Dunedin City Corporation a license to run a seasonal service to Eglinton Valley. The ground of the application is that a body such as the corporation has no right to operate a motor service for such a distance as the one to Eglinton Valley, it being contended that the corporation may operate only into territory ot a neighboring authority. The writ has been filed by Wanaka Motors, Limited, who objected when the application came before the No. 9 Authority.
