ARAPUNI POWER
EXTENSION OF PLANT TENDERS RECEIVED (Pur Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Tenders for two additional generators and turbines for Arapuni have been received by the Public Works Department, and probably will be considered by the Cabinet after the Christmas vacation. Arapuni was planned for -eight generators, hut only four were put into commission. For some time the station has been working at full pressure, and it has been decided to increase the power 58 per cent. Tho power house is being extended to receive the additional plant, the building being enlarged to accommodate t'he full eight sets, which will probably all be needed within a few years.
