(Herald Correspondent.) An enjoyable tennis party was given by Mrs. Bushnelf, assisted by her daughter, jean, on Saturday at. itheir picturesque cdurt overlooking the sea coast. All present enjoyed the ideal weatheg for tne popular game. Afternoon tea was much enjoyed. Among .those pres, riil Were Afesdames AVbst, Williams, VV. Torrie and O. Torrid; Miss A. West;' Messrs. A. N. West, G. Torrie, WTorrie, G. MeArli, and F. Williams; Masters A. qml G. Torrie. Last Tuesday a number of members from the Whnrehita Women’s Institute journeyed to Patutahi as the guests of that institute, to watch a demonstration on the art of seagrass stool weaving. All thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Mrs. G. B. Ale Ara has returned homo after spending a short holiday as tlm guest of her mother, .Mrs. W. Hall, at “The Hole-in-the-wall," Gisborne. The weather in the district has been very hot, but the country is - looking well, with an abundance of feed.
