SWIMMING
GA&fttVAL FOtlft MLES AT STAKE Four championships will be contested at the Gisborne Surf and Swimming Club’s first official carnival, to be held to-morrow evening at the Macrae Bath. Much interest will centre in these events, and particularly in the 50yds. title race, in regard to which the opinions of club officials differ widely regarding the probable winner.
The championship events will be supported by a good selection of minor handicaps, and the programme also will include diving, water polo, and novelty events which should be well worth seeing. The carnival will be conductor by practically the same list of officials as last year’s promotions, and there should be no time lost in running off the events.
