ST. MARY’S SALE OF WORK
0000 IU’SINKSS DONE The. Mnrist schoolroom presented an animated scene, this- morning on the occasion of the- animat, sale of work conducted by the lady members of St. Mary’s Church. The stalls, which wove divided into five sections, were arranged round the building. Each section represented different portions of the parish, and much work had been done by the ladies in order to provide an excellent array of goods. The sale actually commenced last .night, when a large number of people attended. It is anticipated that the building will be thronged by the large number of people who visit town for the late shopping night. Those in charge of the stalls considered that the amount of business done would be quite up to that of last year's function and that the church funds would be handsomely increased. An unusual donation to the Maka-raka-Te Hapara stall, in the form of a beautiful model of an old-time sailing vessel, was •made by one of the parish members, aiull the gift attracted the attention of all who visited the schoolroom. A novel feature seen on the Mangapapa and Whataupoko table were several bridal bouquets made of sweets bv Mrs. Oraill.
