SOLVING UNEMPLOYMENT
PROGRESS IN BRITAIN DEPRESSED AREAS BILL (British Official Wireless.) Rec. noon. RUGBY, Dec. 24. When the third reading of the Depressed Areas Bill was passed by the House of Commons by 221 votes to 53, the Minister of Labor, Mr Oliver Stanley, stated that the measure was offered as a contribution to one part of the unemployment problem which might develop into a much larger application. He pointed out that the income of the working classes had increased by several millions during the last year or so, and the number of people in employment was now within a few thousands as great as at any time within history. ..
