LONDON’S TRAFFIC
LIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM STEADY EXPANSION (British Official Wireless.) Rec. noon. RUGBY, Dee. 24, London’s traffic control has undergone a gradual transformation through the steady extension of the traffic IR-Vs system. Two years ago, only 3l) such installations }vere in operation, and 18 of these were concentrated in Oxford street. Now, the number within the metropolitan area is approximately 370. Some criticism was directed at the authorities for the degree of -caution they displayed in extending the system, but the result of their policy is that London is now equipped with a light signal system far in advance of that used in other great -cities. Meanwhile, the system is steadily being extended, and traffic is working with a smoothness and celerity which mark a great advance on previous conditions.
