MAN’S TRAGIC DEATH
BLIND FOR 25 YEARS THEN RECOYERS SIGHT LONDON, Dec. 14. Mr. Islay Blair, of To Iloro, New Zealand, died in tragic circumstances. He went to England for an operation after 25 years’ blindness. Dr. Tudor Thomas successfully grafted a cornea from another patient on the diseased eye in June, and Mr. Blair recovered his sight and was able to read and travel iilone.
He was about to return to New Zealand when lie had a fatal attack of kidnev disease.
