DANCING ASSOCIATION
FORTNTOHTLV MEETING
The fortnightly meeting of the Poverty Bay Centre of the Dancing Association was presided over by Mr. P. Sim. There was a full attendance pi members. Correspondence regarding the Poverty Bay delegate on the Dominion council was received, and the secretary’s action in signing the necessary papers was endorsed. Attention was drawn to the Te Karaka sports programme, widen includes two dancing" championships, the remainder being handicap events. For the amateur floodlight meeting to-night. Misses M. Realty and Flora .Johnstone were appointed to judge the jig and sword dance under 13 and the fling and hornpipe over 13. It. was agreed that the presentation of trophies 'won during the past three functions' should be made this evening, and it was decided to ask winners to be in attendance.
It, was agreed that inquiries from outside competitors should be replied to stating that dancing events at Kaitaratnlii and Te Karaka would Vie under the handicap system, and invite them to compete. Permission was given for the use of the centre's dancing board for the national dancing during the Duke of Gloucester’s visit.
