SMOKING AT WORK
DANGER when forbidden
LONDON, Oct. 5. Lprd Nuffield, formerly Sir William Morris, of Morris Motors, Limited, in an addross at the Institute of Motor Trader, explained that he allowed smoking at his works because it lessened the risk of fire, ..... , .. If smoking' was forbidden, he said, workers would drop cigarettes when the fdreman came along, probably on an oily swab. Moreover, when-smok-ing was allowed, not half ns many eigardttes wore used. Recently he visited his works and counted only 15 smokers in the whole place.
