THE ANNUAL REPOET LOWER WORKING COSTS The report of the Ngatiporou’Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, shows a decrease m the working costs and continents on high grading points for its butter. hTe report, which will be presented to the annual meeting next Tuesday, states “Owing to the poor season for feed, the output is slightly below the previous season, and the outputs to date are;— First season, 62 tons; second, 130 tons; third, 206 tons; fourth, 285 tons; fifth, 379 tons; sixth, 344 J tons; seventh, 459£ tons; eighth, 689 tons; ninth, 681 tons. “During the season all produce was consigned, and the market met, with the result that the company lias no accumulations of old butter in store. The normal amounts either awaiting shipment or in transit at July 31, 1934, have now practically all been sold. Prices received for butter have been slightly less than the previous year. "Tlie company’s costs show a downward tendency compared with tho previous year. Cream cartage is down by .03d, manufacturing costs by ,02d, charges to i.o.b. by .Old, and general by .Old. These costs can now be regarded as very close to a minimum. “The factory has been improved during the year by the addition of a new churn, a larger cream vat, and more stage space. A much larger output can now' be handled without any more additions to the plant or building. “The grade of our butter is very high considering that practically 97 per cent, of the supply is graded, and suppliers are to be congratulated and urged to keep the matter of grade always to the fore. Our reports on the way the butter turns out in England are very complimentary to tho company. “By tho approaching departure of your manager and secretary, Mr. J. D. Fcnn, your company is losing an energetic and faithful servant. The progress made by the company since its inception is eloquent evidence of tho services he has rendered.”
