BALLOON WRECKED
STRATOSPHERE ASCENT BOTH OCCUPANTS DEAD (Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) (Received May 16, 11 a.m.) BERLIN, May 15. Germany’s biggest balloon ascended from Bittorfeld on Sunday morning for the purpose of measuring the intensity of the sun’s rays in the sub-stratosphere. It was found wrecked on Monday afternoon near Aunaberg on the llussoLatviau frontier. The mangled body of Herr Musuch, a meteorologist, lay nearby. The' body of the pilot. Dr. Schvenck, was found 11 miles from the wreck. The state of the instruments indicated that the balloon crashed at midnight on Sunday.
