HASTINGS STOCK SALE WAIROA FAT CATTLE A considerable draft of cow beef, largely carrying only light to medium finish, on account of Mr Humphry Bayly, “Cri'cklewood, ” Wairoa, materially swelled the fat cattle entry ac 'Stortl'ord Lodge yesterday morning, the yarding numbering 3-25 head, practically totally composed of cow and heifer beef. Despite the heavy supply, the market during the early stages of the sale remained fully firm on the sales of a fortnight ago on light to medium finished cow and heifer beef, while two extra (prime heavy P.A. cows, on account of Mr D. 11. Stewart, Wainmrama, sold at £7 2s, the highest price realised for cow beef on the Hawke's Bay market for some months.
