Messrs. G. R. Brisco and W. L. Mitchell, Gisborne, were recent visitors to Wellington. Tho King gave an audience to Sir Thomas Wilford on the occasion of his retirement from the New Zealand High Gommissionorship. Mrs Ward, president for New Zealand of the women’s division of the Farmers’ Union, was expected to arrive in Gisborne fTom Rotorua this afternoon. Lady Huntingfield, who was recently suffering from ,antrum trouble, underwent a successful operation in a West End nursing home, performed by the aural and nasal surgeon, Dr. G. Beecomhe ITott, and is progressing satisfactorily. Mr A. 11. B. Jones, malinger of the Bank of New South Wales at Christchurch, will be transferred to Wellington as .assistant inspector for the New Zealand division of the bank. Mr j. E. A still, lately of the head office at Sydney, and at present assisting inapector of the New Zealand division, will succeed Mr Jones at Christchurch. Tho changes will he made in the middle of March".
