GUARDS USE BATONS

CLASH IN KILDARE BLUE SHIRTS’ MEETING (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received February 26, 2 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 25. The swift use of batons by Kildaio Qivic Guards prevented a serious collision between Blue Shirts and their opponents in the course of General O’Duffy’s meeting. Fifteen hundred adherents escorted General O’Dulfv to the centre of the town, where he addressed 4000 people. An organised attempt to break up tbe meeting led to a lieroe faction light, which the guards terminated, forming a harrier between the rival parties. Eventually they made baton charges and dispersed the interrupters.
