STATE OF EMERGENCY
ELECTIONS IN SPAIN GENERAL STRIKE FEARED MADRID, Dec. 4. A state of emergency has been declared throughout Spain in view of rumors that the. Crowds badly treated many nuns as they voted. The police have deposited all gunsmiths’ stocks in the artillery barracks, and apparently control the situation. A general strike is feared to-day. though the Socialists won Madrid, seeming 15 representatives compared with four Right Wing deputies. It is estimated that 42 Rightists, ol Centrists and 22 Socialists have been elected as a result of Sunday’s poll, but no reliable statement is yet possible.
