TOKOMARU BAY NEWS

A verv pleasant afternoon was .spent by a number of tennis enthusiasts and friends during the week-end at the opening of the To Puka Hotel tennis court. The charming hostesses, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Brodie, received the guests in the garden, where the llowerberts were ablaze with color. Most of the visitors joined in the games of tennis, while those who were content with watching the players sat on the lawn and in the pergola. The delicious afternoon tea, which was served from the summer-house in tho garden, left nothing to be desired. The court was in splendid order for play, and situated on the shores of the bay, and surrounded by beautiful gardens, it would lie difficult; to find a more picturesque. spot in Tokoinnru Bay. Miss Rona Kendon, Gisborne, lias joined the staff of (lie Waiupu Hospital as a probationer. Nurse Steele, of To Puia Hospital, is on leave owing to ill-health. —Nurse 11. MncFarlnne, formerly of To Puia, left last week to commence training at the Auckland Hospital.
