(Herald Correspondent.) Mrs. T. McCreedv has received advice from the Stratford Show officials that her knitted entries have been judged as follows: Frock, first; bonnet, first; coat, second. The full set, was given first prize in the last Gisborne Show. The lato Mrs. Lawson, whose funeral took place at ToJaga Bay on Sunday, was of a retiring and kindly disposition, and deeply respected by all with whom she came in contact. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. Yeates, she was born in Forest Gate, England, and came to New Zealand about 30 years ago, her homo being for over 20 years in 'l'olaga Bay. Deceased was a valued member of the Anglican Ladies’ Guild, in the ranks of which she lias left a gap which will lie hard to fill. Her only brother predeceased her by about 12 months, and she leaves her husband, Mr. Peter Lawson, to whom is extended the sympathy of residents.

The Wellington and East Coast Moulded Rifles have fired the final stage of their musketry course, and the highest aggregate for the Stoneham Cup was secured by Quartermaster-Sergeant J. W. Pickett and Trooper J. Lockwood, who wore equal with scores of 556. Captain G. S. Wilson, 543. and Trooper K. Taylor, 541, were the next highest scorers. Trooper ,T. Lockwood, with a score of 114 at last shoot, secured his marksman’s badge, and from fourth place in the aggregate drew level and holds the cup with QuartermasterSergeant Pickett. BOWLS TOURNAMENT

During the week-end the members of the Toiaga Bay Bowling Club held a progressive pairs tournament, and given a, delightful day and excellent playing conditions, a most enjoyable time was spent. The skip’s trophy went to (J. V\. Taylor with five wins, and the lead’s to Peter Burns, who played oil with Boreliam and Hutchins, the 'final head being the deciding point. During afternoon tea Mr. C. K. Smith, as ono of the senior members, was called upon to present- Mr. J. A. Moore with a life member’s badge. He remarked that Mr. Moore and himself were the only original members left in the club, and the new members little knew the hard work that had been necessary to form the dub and also to sustain interest. Mr. Moore was accorded niusi cal honors, alter which lie thanked the members in a neat little speech. Mr. G. A. Neill the first president, who now resides in Wailii, was also made a life member.
