“MENACE OF ISLAM”
MAHOMETAXIKM INCREASJ NO RKNIHGO, Vie., Nov. PI. Addressing Bendigo business men today on “Tim Menace of Islam, ’ .Mr. K. jj. Wale, chief secretary of the Sudan United Mission, said it, was only a matter of time before Central Africa would he won to Mahometanism. Ft was ridiculous to say that there was no Moslem menace. According to the Mahometan religion there would he a holy war until the day of judgment, and tho hand of the Moslem would he against every person with whom lie came into contact. To appreciate this one had only to look at Palestine and India to-day. The British Government realised the difficulties which would arise if the twenty or thirty million pagan Sudanese became Moslem. Tt had appealed to the Sudan United Mission to -t-nd its work, and had opened doors to the mission, which, unfortunately, it could not enter, because of tho lack of support from tho Christian churches at home. 'Mahometanism was now definitely increasing, and there was need for haste if Christianity were to savo tho Sudanese from tho Moslem.
