The American Olympic Association passed a resolution recommending that Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 should be boycotted by American athletes unless tiie Nazis remove the ban on German Jews participating. Similar action was recently taken by t.he Amateur Athletic Union. The Olympic Association, after considerable debate, however, added a coiled iatory clause expressing the hope that the Nazis would lift- the Jewish ban so that Americans could participate.
