CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE
MISHAP TO KAREPO DOCKED FOR REPAIRS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, thus day, The Union Company’s collier, lCarepo, which was docked yesterday for an examination and repairs, was found to be slightly more damaged than had been anticipated. Four or live plates on the starboard bow, in the way of No, .1 tank, were found to be badly damaged, one plate being holed. The bilge keel was bent for its full length on the starboard side, while there were two minor indentations fairly far aft, and the tip of one blade of the propeller was bent. The repairs arc expected to take eight or nine days, and the crew will be paid off to-day. The Karepo touched a rock while entering Greymouth on November la.
