2 5,000,000 LISTENERS EXPENDITURE OF FEES (Received Nov. 24. 3 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 23. The annual review of British broadcasting states that there were 5.654,408 licenses in August, representing a listening public of 25,000,000. Out of every- 10s fee, only 4s 7<l goes to the Boardeasting Corporation, as the Post Office takes Is, the Treasury 4s, and income tax sd. Out of the 4s 7d, programmes cost 2s 6d, engineering Is, and administration Is. Australia will supply the Empire Day programme in 1934, and the other Dominions in following years in alphabetical order
