LONE ATLANTIC VOYAGE
BRITISH V.C.’S CRUISE ARRIVAL AT NASSAU (British Official Wireless.) Bee. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 1. Group Captain Rees arrived at Nassau, Bahamas, to-day, after sailing alone in his eight-ton yacht from Falmouth, via I he, Azores. The voyage from the Azores took 0-1 days. Captain Rees won the Victoria Cross during lhe war ‘by attacking, single-handed, 10 enemy planes, bringing down two, and continuing to fight, although severely wounded, until the other eight were scattered.
