ENGLAND'S DROUGHT
NO RAIN IN 20 DAYS HOLIDAYS PROLONGED (British Official Wireless.> Rec. 10 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 11. To-day is the twentieth day without rain in southern England, and there is no sign of any change. There is a prolongation of the holiday season, and seaside resorts are experiencing an unprecedentedly prosperous September. The London region wireless programme was interrupted when all the engineers at the Broadcasting Corporation’s transmitter at Brookman’s Park. Hertfordshire, helped to beat a fire which swept across the Great North road, holding up traffic and threatening the aerial masts.
