MAINE GOES “WET”
SENSATIONAL VOTE U.S. LIQUOR LAWS PORTLAND, Sept. 11. Maine, which for over 80 years has had State prohibition, became title twenty-sixth State to ratify the liquor law repeal amendment to-day. Almost complete returns indicated a two-to-one victory for the “wets.” Action in the required 36 States is now virtually assured of being taken by November 7, with complete ratification within a month after that date.
