BRITISH CONTROVERSY INDEPENDENTS OMITTED (Klee. T«l. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received September 11, 3 p.m.) LONDON, Sept: 10. Mr. Idoyd 1 George-, Mr. Winston Churchill and Sir Austen. Chamberlain are jointly protesting to Mr. Whiteley, chairman of tho British Broadcasting Board against their omission from political broadcasts beginning on October 12. They recalled Sir Kingsley Wood’s promise that minorities would be included in tho programmes. They pointed out that they were the three senior Privy Councillors in the House of Commons. Mr. Whiteley pleaded that the. limitation of space confined the present series to Ministerial and Opposition speakers, but without prejudice to the future expression of independent views. The protestors retorted that a precedent undoubtedly was- established, eiri forcing the exclusion of all not nominated by the party leaders.
