BOMBING BY AIR FORCE VICEROY’S STATEMENT (Received August 31, noon.) DELHI, August 30. A crowded Assembly heard the denial by the Viceroy, Lord Willingdon, that the frontier bombing in any way infringed the canons of humanity. Air action of this sort had often occurred in the past 12 years without comment, he said. On the present occasion no one was killed and only one man injured. The effect of air bombing lay in the economic loss inflicted by the destruction of dwellings and the disturbance ot every-day life. A peaceful conclusion to, the frontier operations is expected to result from the visit of Sir George Cunningham, Governor of the North-West Frontier Province, to Peshvvar next week, when he will meet tribal chiefs and representatives in dirge.
