LOSS OF 16 LIVES
SPECTACULAR ACCIDENTS ’PLANES AND TRAIN EL PASO (Texas), Aug. 30. Two spectacular aeroplane accidents and also a railway smash resulted in the loss of 1(5 lives on the South Western section to-day. A train plunged through a bridge into a flooded river near Tucumcari, New Mexico. Eight persons were killed gild 40 injured. A passenger aeroplane flying in a rainstorm near Amarillo, Texas, crashed, killing two pilots and three passengers. / Two army aeroplanes crashed head on, killing one instructor and two cadets. A second instructor leaped to safety in a parachute.
