ARREST OP TWO MEN
Smart work on the part of Constable R. Owen was responsible for the arrest of two men on a charge of breaking and entering two Levin drapery establishments last week-end. Constable Owen noticed two women arrive at Foxton in a taxicab with five suit cases. ftis suspicions were aroused when later in the day they were joined ‘by two men, who arrived by service car.* The stranger? deposited the bags in a local fruit shop and went off. Constable Owen communicated with the police at Levin, and it is alleged that • a search of ' the Ibags ro.vealod property which was missing fro pi the Levin shops. Subsequently two men .Wore arrested on the highway two Miles ’north of Foxton. . • :L‘ In the, Polieo Court at Levin, before Justices of the Peace, Bernard Cummings, 21, and Garth Durraht, £4, wore charged with breaking and 1 entering the premises of J. E. Wallace sind W. Davie, at Levin. They were remanded to appear in Wellington.
