INFANTS’ CLOTHING

AN URGENT APPEAL SALVATION ARMY NEEDS An urgent need of clothes for infants has been disclosed to the Salvation Army organisation in connection with a number of families in Gisborne, and in this issue Captain Dick, area officer, makes an appeal through the advertising col-’ unins for donations of baby clothes for the relief of this need.

there are at least 18 cases under the care of the army in whicli clothing for infants ranging from birth up to two years are needed. Most householders are aware of the expense of the ordinary provision for an infant, and must, sympathise with those families whose means do not permit of such provision. Their sympathy can be given practical expression by response to the Salvation Army appeal, with the sure knowledge that their generosity will assist cases of a deserving type. In many homes there must be accumulations of clothing left off by growing children, which would be of great value in meeting the present need in less fortunate hoines. and this appeal on behalf of the babies of indigent families should not fail of a handsome response. Gifts of material which might be. made up into garments for babies also will be welcomed by the Salvation Army officers, and a message to Captain Dick at 260, Childers road, or to telephone 571, will be sufficient to arrange for the collection of donations.
