OVERCOME WITH GRIEF
GIRL ATTEMPTS SUTTEE (Received August 29, 11 a.m.) CALCUTTA, Aug, 28. Overcome with grief at the death of her-husband, aged 24 years, a girl of 16 at Diamond Harbor, Calcutta, attempted to commit suttee. She threw herself on tho blazing pyre, clinging to the burning body. The mourners rescued her senseless and extensively burned.
