REDUCTION OF CHARGES

A reduction in the charges of cool storage- for fruit and cheese were approved at a meeting of the Wellington Harbor Board last night. The cool storage rates for cheese hitherto has boon Is fid per ton for the first fortnight and 4s for subsequent fortnights. The new charges will be 4s 6d for the first fortnight, 3s (id for the second, and for subse-qn-en* f vh>ights 3-;. The charges for the first fortnight include receiving, labor, delivery and cooling. The new scalo does not operate before Juno 1. The present charge for the storage of fruit is 5d per case for the first fortnight and for succeeding fortnights'3d. The new charges for storage for the first fortnight will bo: Up to 300,000 cases per season 4UI per ease, and over 300.000 for the season 4d per case; for .succeeding fortnights 3d per case. The new charges conic into operation ou May 1.
