ANOTHER REDUCTION
BAN£ DEPOSIT BATE MAXIMUM OF 3.| PEE CENT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Associated Banks have agreed ■to reduce as from to-morrow the interest rates on fixed deposits to the following: — Three months and under six months, 2.2 per cent. ■Six months and under 12 -months, 2-1 per cent. Twelve months and under 24 months, 3 per cent. Twenty-four months, 3 : i per cent. The new rates will apply, of -course, only to new deposits and renewals. (Substantial amounts of fixed deposits for 24 months at 5 per cent, will not mature till July 31 next; -other de-posits’-st 44 por cent, will run till May 11-, 1934, and other deposits at 4 percent. till December, 1934.
