HOSPITALS BILL
THIRD READING CARRIED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. In the House of Representatives the Hon. .T. A. Young moved the third reading of the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Amendment Bill. A number of members made speeches placing on record their views expressed in committee. When the House resumed the debate presented a fresh aspect, when Mr. W. Nash (Labor. Hutf) moved that the bill be re-committed to enable reconsideration of the clauses relating to the setting up of commissions and providing power by Order-in-Council. to close institutions and restrict services if recommended by the commissions. Mr. Nash’s motion was defeated bv 30 votes to 17, Messrs H. M. Rushworth. Wilkinson, and A. E. .Tull joining the Labor members in a oting for it. The Hon. ,T. A. Young then replied, after which the bill was read a third time and passed.
