(Notes by-“ Black Knight") Strenuous efforts have been made by members who were still in the running for winning the handicap tournament to complete their gamos. Weatherly beat (Heave, two games, and Ritchie, one, all level; Keddon. receiving pawn with two moves, heat Sehliehting twice, conceding pawn and move to Glenvo and Venning won one and lost one with (Heave and drew the game with Venning; Sehliehting gave Hampton the queen's knight and each won one game. The result of the tournament is that Seddon is the victor with 17 wins out of 22 games played : Weatherly a very close rmiuer-up with 161 wins; Schlich ting 15£ wins; Venning IT. 1 , out of 20 games and Meredith 10 out of 16 games only.

The remaining game in the championship tournament between Weatherly and Venning was won by the former, which gave him a tie with both Sehliehting and Ritchie for the second place; Seddon holding the first position and the championship; Thompson has fifth place and Venning sixth. Ritchie lias since played off with Weatherly and won, so he will next play Sehliehting for the second position and Weatherly takes the fourth.

To-morrow night will he the final meeting this season, when a sides game will pc played between- teams selected liv the m-esident. Mr. Cleave, and the vice-president, Mr. Ritchie. All members are expected to participate and outsiders interested in the Royal game are invited.
