RUN DOWN BY ENGINE
SURFACEMAN KILLED (Pel* Press Association.} CARTERTON, this day. Thomas Daniel Keane, 46, a surfaceman employed on the railway, was killed instantly at Foatherston this morning. Tiie deceased was travelling north of Feathers ton station on a jigeer when he was overtaken by an engine proceedui" to Mustniton to take part m ballast W nrk. The engine ran the jigger down. The deceased came to Foatherston from Gisborne, and the'only relative, so far as is known, is a sister living at Hokitika.
