BRITISH ARMY UNIFORM MANY NEW FEATURES (British Oflicia! Wireless.) Ree. 10 a.in. RUGBY. Nov. 28. The new uniform equipment, which, if finally adopted, will considerably alter the appearance of the British Army, was officially shown for the first time in London to-day. Striking features are a. light, waterproof hat of the deer-stalker pattern, which can fat folded into a pocket, an open-necked tunic shirt, and dull bronze buttons and badges. Decision is not final regarding the trousers, but. those shown are similar to the Guards pattern, with short web leggings. The purpose of the new uniform is to l educe weight, increase comfort, and generally be more hygienic. The new uniform is being issued to two battalions ns an experiment. ANOTHER ALTERATION MOUSTACHES FOR THE GUARDS LONDON, Nov. 29. The Daily Telegraph says it is too King's desire that all officers of the Household Cavalry, numbering about 40. of the Life Guards, and Royal Horse Guards, should grow moustaches.
