A dispute over wages was heard by Mr. P, 11. Harper, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, the plaintiff being Ned Kawai, of Buatorin, truck driver (Mr. A. A. Whitehead), and the defendant Charles Tamblin, of Whangara, contractor (Mr. L. T. Biunard). Tlio plaintiff claimed in all £32, made up> of flic balance of wages, £27 10s, which he alleged was owing, and £4 10s wages in lien of notice, and the defendant counter-claimed for £1 5s for tlio hire of a ear and benzine. After hearing the evidence, the magistrate gave judgment for the plaintiff on, the claim ice; £ll Is 3d, and for Hie defendant Tamblin for tlio full amount of his counter-claim.
