MELBOURNE WOOL SALES (Received November 29, 2 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 29. At the wool sales, 10,000 bales wore offered and met good competition, Japan am! the Continent being the principal buyers. Prices were on a, par with the closing rates of last week. There lias been a. steady :iecumillation of wool in Wanganui during the last few days, with (lie result filial there are now several thousand bales shored in the city. As a large amount of unsold wool remained in the stores, after the last season, the warehouses of the various firms are now, in many eases, already full, amt several empty buildings are being used to house the new season hi clip.
About 30 tons of the material from the old dredge of the Molyneux Company, which was purchased by the Gillespie’s Reach Dredging Company
in far South Westland, has been landed at the company’s area and the remainder is to-be sent on as it is required. The pontoon is to be large and strongly built and will bo fitted vv'ith electricity. It is expected that the cost of alterations, carting of machinery, and electrical equipment will lie in the vicinity of .£10,500. The dredge and tables are designed to treat !30 cubic yards an hour.
