A distance of 325 miles by aeroplane was accomplished by Squadron-Leader T. W. White, of Timaru, on Friday, in the remarkably short time of four hours twenty minutes’ actual flying time. At 10.35 a.m. he received a message from Dunedin asking him to leave immediately for Tarras, Central Otago. He left the Timaru Airport at 10.40 a.m. and landed at Tanas at 12.40 p.m There lie picked up his passenger, refuelled and left for Dunedin at 1.5 p.m., arriving there at 1.55 p.m. lie again refuelled there, picked up two passengers, and left at 2.15, arriving hack in Timaru at 3.45 p.m. The maximum altitude attained on the trip was 12,600 feet.
