Pacing a deficit of 257 runs on the first iuning-s, the New South Wales cricketers are lighting hard to avert an innings defeat at the hands of the M. 0.0. The position is all the more desperate, because Bradman is not expected to take any further part in the match. He is in' lied to-day suffering from a chill and a -sore throat. It is anticipated, however, that lie will recover in time for the test match. The game was continued in hot weather. Voce showed. that he is a batsman of some merit, defying seven New South Wales bowlers, and, with Ames, established a record of 100 runs for the eighth wicket.
England hatted for 496 minutes. Bird and O’Reilly were the only bowlers who deserved wickets. New South Wales started their second innings badly, Bill’s wicket being spreadeagled with only seven rums on the board.
