At the front of Parliament House there arc 26 beds, each containing 500 tulip bulbs, totalling in all 13.000 bulbs in 12 varieties. It, is expected that these plants will reach the ton flowering state m approximately afortnight, weather conditions being favorable. The colors will range from deep yellow to brilliant scarlet. ’There are many other large beds in the city and at Yarralumla, The flowering shrubs, such as the pear bush, lilac, and cherries, are, coming into bloom, and the elms, poplars, and plane trees are breaking into leaf.
