FREEZING WORKS DISPUTE

MEETING OF UNIONISTS NO CHANGE IN ATTITUDE (Por TVoss Association.) AUCKLAND, lust, night. The position in the slaughtermen's dispute was unchanged in Auckland during the week-end. Union officials state that ffi> per cent, of the members in the district were at the meeting. Reports were received front all centres to the effect that no regrets were entertained for the situation. On Friday, a similar meeting was held at Horotiu works, Hamilton, about 720 unionists being present, and the same attitude was adopted. TROUBLE AT WANGANUI LIGHTERS NOT LOADED (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, last night. No work was carried out on the lighters which were to have been loaded on Saturday morning at Castleeliff in preparation for the arrival of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s Opawa, which is due in the roadstead on Monday night. No reasons were given by the men, but it. is understood that they object to the reduced rates of pay now general throughout freezing works.
